Sherry’s Show (Sh)Recap – 11/13/11
Whether you’re a food virtuoso or a food microwave-oso (you should see me heat up a plate of taquitos), you’ll love the latest Baub Show podcast (which you can listen to by clicking here)!
Puns, pictures, and plenty more to give you a taste of what you missed…
We’re not shy about this Shytown opening!
Bob was even more man-tastic than usual thanks to No Shave November, which raises awareness for prostate cancer while turning its participants into Zach Galifianakis look-a-likes. (Don’t believe me? Here’s a snapshot of Bob heading into the studio…)
We discussed the recent Ashton Kutcher and Brett Ratner flubs, and pondered the question: are these career changing sound bites proof that we’re finally holding people accountable to their words, or have we gone too far in persecuting them? (Have a thought yourself? Of course you do, you sentient being you! Post it on our facebook page or in the comments below and let’s discuss!)
We really got things cooking (PUN INTENDED) when Bob introduced Chef Ludo Lefebvre and his wife / business partner Krissy Lefebvre! Chef Ludo and Krissy served us up some knowledge (MORE PUNS! MORE INTENTION!) about the concept of the pop up restaurant, the inspiration behind their show Ludo Bites America, the other side of the Foie Gras debate, Ludo’s visit to a hormone-free cattle ranch in Nebraska, how chefs are really treated in French kitchens, and a life-altering buffalo hunt.
DING DING DING. Time for foodie trivia: America versus France edition. We learned some cooking terms, service etiquette, and that I do the worst Bill Cosby impression of all time.
To cleanse our palates and ears of said impression, we talked about Our Favorite Things of the Week, which included baby’s first tooth, Ludo’s Nebraska trip, Dance Dance Revolution dressed as Mario and Princess Peach (I wonder whose that one was…), and Jimmy Fallon getting Chris Martin of Coldplay to do “The Worm”.
For dessert, Bob and Ludo exchanged a few more sassy comments, we upgraded Socrates to Greek God status, and Krissy gave us a way to make the world a better place: encourage someone to follow their dreams. (Speaking of following, you can follow Chef Ludio on twitter @ChefLudo, the Ludo food truck @LudoTruck, and Krissy @FrenchChefWife.)
What a scrumptious podcast!
And be on the lookout for Chef Ludo’s new cookbook and restaurant for kids Ludo Baby Bites sometime next year.
